I wish for MA map specific reset percentage requirements
« on: April 17, 2012, 05:50:14 PM »
20% is far to little for some maps designed to have fluid moving fronts.these maps reset in a day even though they are large or medium sized maps.

20% is far to much for others that have been designed as stagnant fixed fronts that once a certain point is reached colapse back in to their starting positions.

it would be well worth the code time investment to even out each maps up time by a simple adjustment on its win % modifier. it might even be more fun too.

a range from say 10% to 33% range would be most helpful.

on a 255 base map you need to cap 17 bases on two fronts. this is impossible on some maps and very easy on some others based on the design of the map.
Fester was my in game name until September 2013

Trinity needs a 1% capture for a reset.

I would agree with this actually. . .some maps are almost guaranteed one weekers, others take a few hours - striking the balance will be difficult though.

A change in Map playlist is really in order really. Adding new layers/etc to counteract the bad taste of a map that is way past its due-by-date is not a fix at all.

New and fresh Maps/Environments are an important part of the lifeblood of a game and AH is maybe lacking that at the moment, so they probably keep things *fresh* by making people play boring maps to provide some sort of perceptive contrast with the ones that still remain some level of refined enjoyment.

Mind you, with the current situation; this lack of good maps is more of the communities fault, since the tools are out there to make the new maps and it no longer lies on HTC's laurels to give the community what it think its needs it that concern.

From my own experience, It feels to me like the enthusiasm for having a good map quickly decides its fate in the current environment, whereas maps which bore people don't generally finish quick enough due to the lack of desire to even play on it, let alone surmount the required effort to finish them.

Anyone would like to guess the average lifespan of a map in AH? One, maybe two years?

Percentage won't matter for what I have planned.

I feel much fun and action could result from one country completely taking over one of the other two countries except the uncapturable fields and ignoring "win the war" attitude.

You would see tanks at the enemy HQ and Strats, Buffs over HQ and strats, and lots of fighters.
