I was reading a discussion about the Gauss rifle over at Mechwarrior when I saw these videos. I thought you guys might appreciate this.

In my estimation, the second one has more power.

The second one is definitely a better weapon. Smaller and more powerful.

The first one needs to have more velocity for that big of a weapon and it had several design flaws. Fuse? Your going to put an embedded fuse in there? How about a circuit breaker you can easily reset under fire. You also have to take the weapon apart to change the battery. That needs to be an external snap-on.

My question about both is range. How far will the projectile travel with enough force to be effective?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Looks like a viable alternative down the road but again like rpm says what is the range and additionally how do you reload the weapon that looks like a pistol?

Anyone need large capacitors like those?
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.
