I second the thrustmaster T flightstick X.

If you get the chance to test more than one joystick vs some others, you will find that some of the higher end sticks don't have good feel as compared to others.

I find this stick overachieves for it's price.

Sadly, I think my 2 year old $12 Logitech 3D Pro is on its last legs  :cry
So I am looking to get a new stick, wondering which stick is best, or at least pretty good?
looking for a twisty stick with a throttle, no pedals, I'm too used to twisty  :D
Thanks! :salute

RedBull,

Here is a simple solution.

Started with Logitech 3d pro and used it for years. It was a twisty.
Then tried CH flight stick, CH pro throttle and Saitek pedals. Ch was not twisty. The pedals take a long time to learn, and the throttle I liked because you can program the buttons.
I did not like the CH joytick or the pedals so I tried to go back to the 3d but found out how "beginner" the joystick was in regards to movement and receiving input it was.
So I looked for a new twisty since i was already used to that type of stick.
I went and bought a Thrustmaster with a detachable throttle. It has a throttle that is attached by a cord to the joystick. You can remove the throttle and place it anywhere on your desk within the range of the cord.
I liked it but the throttle part lacked all the buttons on the CH throttle.

Soooo...I now use the Thrustmaster joystick and use the CH Pro throttle. The Thrustmaster throttle stays connected  but it is not in use because I use the CH throttle.
I like this set up because I have a better performing twisty, I have a throttle with many programmable buttons and I don't have to mess with pedals under my desk.
The programmable buttons on the CH Pro throttle enable you to play with minimal use of the keyboard.

The only change I would make would be to find a Thrustmaster that does not have the throttle attached by a cord to the joystick because I do not use the throttle. I think they make one that way.

If you do not want to spend money on the CH throttle, just buy a Thrustmaster with throttle.  They have 2 kinds. 1 with a throttle slider on the joystick and the one I have with the throttle attached by the cord that is removeable from the joystick base.

I have never had any plug and play issues with the thrustmaster or Ch products.

Hope this helps

ADDED-My joystick is called: THRUSTMASTER T.Flight Hotas X
The other one has a throttle lever but also has buttons on the base you can program. it is called: Thrustmaster T.Flight Stick X. Same joystick handle and internal parts as mine.

I'm using the predecessor of the Thrustmaster T-flight Hotas, a twisty stick with a separate throttle. For the most part I like it, it is formed almost similar to the Logitech 3D I used before this one. Now after testing one I'm planning to get a Thrustmaster T.16000 but keep the throttle. The T.16000 is a bit longer than the T-flight, which suits my rather broad palm. More important, the accuracy is unbelievable.
