Guppy, if I were you, I'd check into pre-paying for flight school.  That kid is going to have the fever pretty badly.   :D

I'd chip a few bucks to help out, make him the youngest to check out in a 51:)

Guppy, did you buy that sweet little tyke a P-51 in Red Tails colors? Sure looks like it... Perfect....

The minute the Mrs. e-mailed me and said she'd found Matthew and we were going to do this parent thing all over again, I ordered a Red Tail 51.  It's the 1/18th 21st Century Toys bird.  That was 3+ years ago.   It's normally hanging from the ceiling as he's still wanting to see it 'fly' while Dad would rather it survive until he's older.  But he's was asking nice so down it came.

As for flight school Dave, I'm not sure a deaf little guy can get a license.  As for the fever.  He does have it bad.  Everything is a prop.  I was telling guys during the scenario that he is often found lying on the dishwasher door looking up at the upper rack and spinning the sprayer.  Heaven forbid if there is a ceiling fan too.  He loves those things :)

Putting on the flight helmet with the goggles keeps him going for a while too.

Guppy there are waivers for deaf pilots - even pilots with only 1 eye. No reason he cant learn to fly.

LOL might not be a bad idea.

I look forward to your updates as this little guy grows up.  I was blessed with two lovely daughters, neither of which seems to care at all that airplanes even exist.   :cry

One of them, my 16 year old would get all dreamy...  The 9 year old still thinks boys have cooties and she "hates" the Bieber...  God help me...  The older daughter, she went to Prom this past weekend...  Here's a photo of her and her "boyfriend" with a 64 Ford Galaxy 500 that belonged to my Grandparents, when they were living (25k original miles in it!)

It's a great car.  About 20 years ago, my garandfather bought it from a close friend to help her out after her husband passed away.  The car had about 20k miles on it then.  My grandfather kept it at his cabin in northern Wisconsin and only drove it a few hundred miles every year.  When my grandparents passed, my dad inherited it.  Since my daughter was wearing a black dress and her boyfriend went with a white dinner jacket for prom, I suggested that they let me do some black and whites with the car.  My favorite shots, for sure.
