changing convergence on flight
« on: May 06, 2012, 05:15:04 AM »
I wish to have a command to change the convergence of guns when in flight or at rearm-pad.

The idea isnt bad, and i think its technically possible (with some time penality, longer rearm time).
But whats the point in it? A good 300-350 convergence will work allright in any plane, against anything, with any style (BnZ or TnB).
Im not against it tho. Especially if a loadout change command is added, whats much easyer to manage in R/L.

What do you think, how much time it took to refuel and rearmore a plane in R/L? As a total laic, i guess, expecting perfect conditions, groundcrew and equipment, maybe 15 mins?
Its represented by 30 secs in AH. F1 style pitstop vs me takin fuel on a gas station.
I guess the convergance change could be represented by a 90 secs time interval. But again, why would you want to change your convergence when a medicore setup works in every situation?

I can see it as a dot command for offline/training arena purposes, but in no way should it be available in any combat arena.

it's a game it can be done and probably wont be a gig deal to coad it.  however we do try to be as realistic as possible and it wasnt possible in ww2.  that's the only difference between ah and the rest of the gamey community.  nothing changes just for the sake of being gamey.

Why would the engine be running?

or....really, Was there a purpose to run the engine, or is it for dramatic value?

The cowl guns fire thru the prop arc.  Perhaps have to have the prop turning to allow the guns to fire.

Or maybe so you didnt need an external power source to run your gunsite and such on the inside.....but idk.
