Throttle Question
« on: April 20, 2012, 11:38:10 PM »
An old Fighter Ace pilot here looking to get back in the virtual skies. I bought a Saitek X52, but have been what seem to be throttle issues. With the throttle at 100% (something I've checked in the configuration) I get the listed max RPMS in the following aircraft:

Mosquito: 3000 rpms with WEP
Tempest: 4000 rpms with WEP
FW 190: 2550 rpms with WEP
F4U-4: about 2550 rpms with WEP

Now the 190 gauge maxes out at not much more than the listed RPMS, but the other plane gauges go much higher. Do I have a throttle problem, or do the other planes just max out at those RPMS? The ME262 gets up to almost 9000 rpms, but that's a jet.

The various planes all have different max RPMs.  I really don't think you have an issue.

And welcome to Aces High!   :salute

You can also bring up the clipboard in flight and click on E6B. Along with some info in fuel endurance you will also see the maximum RPM's at MIL power and under WEP:  :salute

If you are able to engage WEP then it is at max rpm, and manifold.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the responses. I have not joined the online arenas yet because I wasn't sure if I had a throttle problem. I will practice a little bit more, then jump in. Thanks again.

You might want to check the calibration setting for the throttle.
That will show  if your stick is moving to full throttle.
