Check out what the dog can actually do during the 3 minute or so dance.
To understand true love, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and then see which one is glad to see you when you come back

Well....  I'm a 42 year old white guy who is about 30 pounds over weight...  I fell 25 feet and shattered my right leg almost 10 years ago now...  An epileptic quadriplegic gerbil dances better then me...   :rofl

It's not that difficult if you have the right type of dog, most the herding and working breeds do well at this "sport".Yes they consider it a dog sport and dog dancing has quite a large following.

Some terriers do well at this as do a couple of the nonsporting breeds like the poodle.

Really it's not much different than teaching a dog to catch a frisbee or to do agility trials.

One of my girls will dance around if I hold a treat up over her head and I didnt teach her that, the tough part is to get them to jump into your arms and be held off the ground, most dogs dont like that. Another difficult thing is to teach a dog to crawl, this is difficult for dogs to do and it takes a good dog to crawl for any distance.

If you want to see some highly trained dogs check out utility dog trials, simply amazing what the dog has to do to get that certificate.
