Lighten up, Francis, I was joking!  :rofl :rofl If I was really interested in drag racing, I would kept my '99 Vette I sold last year, it made over 550 at the rear wheels.

You'd be a little surprised by the 4.6is.... it's not a regular X5, the 'is' designation is basically the "M" package for X5's..... 350 hp AWD.... 1/4 mile times are roughly equal to what my old 1990 Corvette was capable of from the factory. Not blinding fast by today's sports car standards, but no slouch either for a family hauler and boat puller.

Never said anything about a truck.  :bhead

Pay attention. I was joking, taking a poke at someone else who made a comment about a supposedly fast Jeep.  :rofl

Besides.... drag racing? pfffffft. That's for people who don't know how to drive but can throw a lot of $$$$ at their car to make it faster instead of themselves.  :old:

And no, it's not a lease. Both it and my 325i sedan are paid for.  :neener:
don't dis on me, ill beat all of you in my mothers jeep

What you do with guys in your mother's jeep is your business, but it will not involve me.  :old:

Seriously, if you're interested in racing, look into the SCCA and start autocrossing in SOLO II. You'll learn a ton about car control and handling, then as experience and $$$ (mostly $$$) allow, work your way into track days, driving schools, and time trials. If you want to go wheel-to-wheel racing, SCCA and NASA offer low-budget racing in various classes. I raced in the NASA East Coast Honda Challenge Series, and SCCA in Improved Touring and the Atlanta Region Pro-IT series, first in an Acura Integra, then later in a Honda CRX Si, and my race car, trailer, and all my spares didn't even run $5K. Getting to and from the track, hotels, food, consumables (tires, brake pads, fuel, etc) were the major expense, but still, relative to other hobbies (I have friends who spent more playing golf or fishing than I spent on racing) it's pretty affordable. I always went the cheap route and camped at the track, and took all my food with me and grilled. I miss the Friday and Saturday night infield "activities" as much as I miss the actual racing. Usually involved beer, fire, and plenty of craziness.  :rofl

If you are using a Jeep for drag-racing, you are doing it wrong.

Besides, bragging on your mother's Jeep detracts, rather than adds to, the cool factor.

I want to see the truck in an "action shot" doing some real work, after it gets scratched up a bit.  Then it's ok :)

Nice :)

But you'll be so jealous if I ever get a utility trailer to pull behind my minivan of justice...

There's a "Master Legend" joke there somewhere.
Just got back from my first run and didn't even take the trailer. Took a BOP (Blowout Preventer) from Decatur, Tx to New Iberia, La... $1000. Not bad for 16 hours.  :airplane:

Just need about 15 more of those and I'll break even.
