Might be the best thing to happen to him, and it will turn him around.

But I am enjoying this a little.  :devil

The Contract was ridiculous in terms of length to begin with and they overpaid.    He should have stayed in St. Louis.    You would expect this to be happening in years 8-10, not right now.

Absolutely no sympathy here.

Being that I live in the STL area I am a HUGE Cardinal's fan.  I had a feeling that once La Russa left Pujols would too.  At first I kind of backed him up after all he's wanting that DH position and he's not getting any younger... but then I heard an interview with his wife on the radio and the little bit I felt for him disappeared when she said these words, "You have NO IDEA how stressful it is to be a free agent!!!"

I'm all for making as much money as you can but there's definitely more to life than money.  He had it on easy street with the Cardinals.  Everyone looked up to him and kind of put him on a pedestal.  With Anaheim he's just another player who has to take orders from the coaches and the manager.  I'd be willing to bet that's he's pretty miserable - especially considering that he hasn't been able to prove himself.

And now that the Cards are coming out strong and us fans are seeing plenty of action - well there aren't many Cards fans that haven't turned their backs to him.  I doubt he'll ever be welcome back here again.

This picture pretty much sums up our feelings:
