He said 6th grade was the toughest 4 years of his life.

LOL  :rofl :rofl :rofl! That WOULD explain his terrible pronunciation, especially of German.

When Spikes says PanzerKampfWagen, it comes out as "Panzer-camp-wagin". And Gewehr once came out as "Grew-er" somehow.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

I have never pronounced anything like that.

Actually I have once, making fun of someone's name on WOT.

Would you also like to explain my 3.9 GPA and chosen college major of Cybersecurity & Information Assurance?

My senior prom is in a couple of weeks. If this thread isn't locked by the time it happens, I might post a few pictures :)

The only way it would get locked is if I called you a noobish toolbag.

In Blighty we don't do prom, we get drunk in pubs far, far away from school
LOL this was the problem I had when it came to my daughter and sons Prom over here.
They asked about what we did in England so I told them I couldn't stand half the people in school
so why should I spend time with them out of school time. Same with school re-unions,my wife is
always going to them and she once asked why I never went, told her I couldn't wait to get out
why should I go back now.

This was one of the big American cultural mysteries to me when I was a teenager. "Proms", "Dating",  family TV shows with teenagers promising their parents to wait with 'it' and the "Dads with shotguns" stuff. Pretty odd concepts...  :noid

Just have to remember that within the U.S. there is a wide diversity of cultures.  The "Dads with shotguns" thing is pretty regional.  Proms are fairly consistent with small differences in the actual event from region to region.

In terms of culture, there are very few things that are nationwide in the U.S.

Back then (30 years ago) I gathered all my knowledge from US TV shows, which for the large part do present a very... uhm... simplified image indeed  :D

Simplified may not be the best term.  They present more of a microcosm of a local social dynamic.  However, there are many who think it does apply across the whole of the U.S.

Best example I cant think of is "King of the Hill".  That show accurately depicts any small town in Texas, but only the small towns.  Outside of the small towns, life is very different in Texas.  However, most people, even in the U.S. think all of Texas is just like that.  We all own guns.  We all talk funny (ya'll is really not that pervasive in Texas).  We are all rednecks and so on.

Anyway, proms here are pretty much like they are in any other part of the U.S.

Not really.  I have a regular group I breakfast with on Saturday mornings.  Three Mini Coopers, two Scion IQ's, one Mercedes SLK320, two AC Ace Cobras, and one motorcycle.

Sure, there are big cars available, but there are also small cars available.

What is probably more normal here, in Texas, are light trucks.

The U.S. really is too culturally diverse to make such general statements about almost anything.

The Chrysler 300 was designed by Mercedes Benz when they owned Chrysler.
