Wondering how much eye candy this would handle with a decent fps

AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 CPU
8GB 1600MHz Memory
AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB

Monitor is 22" flat screen but i have a new 50" plasma tv sitting beside it-hmmm

Thoughts?

That should run AH quite well even though the 7750 is middle of the road of todays cards it's 5 times better than what I use ATM.

Connect it up to the plasma and try it out,my 24 in. monitor mostly collects dust sinse I conected my flat screen!

Initially it was, but some of that was due to the CPU drivers in Windows, which have since been fixed, and now Bulldozer is about the same as the previous generation AMD CPU.  Still did not remove the black eye AMD gave itself after all the hype they poured into it.

I am always hesitant to answer questions like that.  I have seen super-monster systems that could not play Tetris without stutters.  I have seen low end systems that could run with every piece of eye candy cranked up.

It all depends on the software installed and the configuration of said software.

Windows and many applications (Intuit, Roxio, Apple, McAfee, Norton are just a few of the bad guys) are just nasty that way.

From a purely hardware perspective, it will not be able to run very well with a shadow texture size larger than 1024, if you enable everything else.  Then again, it will depend on how many bad guys are in view.  I am also assuming Windows 7 64 bit will be used as the operating system.

Quite frankly, if the game is set to its maximum where 256 planes (representing every plane in the game) can be in view and all have their own skins, there is not a video card on the planet with enough video RAM to handle it.

I have a HD 5570 and I've been in cases where there were 80-90 players in sight (GVs and planes, friendlies and enemies), and my FPS still stayed above 30. With Detailed Terrain, Detailed water, reflections, other player skins, 512 shadows, and bump map self.

Now a 7750 is still a whole lot faster than my card, even if there are software that makes his PC slower, I'm sure he'll still be able to handle more.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.
