On 11 April 1942, an aerial gunnery contest was held for No. 11 Group RAF.   The three competing Polish squadrons were the 303, 316 and 315.   They took the first three places out of all 22 air squadrons.  No. 303 Squadron came in first by scoring 808 hits.  No. 316 Squadron scored 432 hits, while the best British Squadron scored 150 hits.
