I'm debating checking this game out.

My concerns are the bugs and the hackers. I can live with getting player killed. (I think) I have been checking out you tube videos and forums so I have some idea of what I would be getting into. I'm just thinking I may wait for the stand alone to be released. If someone has a strong argument for going for it now let me know.

I have played Arma 2 offline but never online mostly the quick single player missions.

I don't play any FPS game anymore because of the rampant hacking problem. Another reason to steer away from certain games are the 'premium' accounts and DLC weaponry which is the dumbest idea ever for anyone but the game producers. DayZ seems funny though from reading user stories.

It's a blast. I'd still be playing DayZ and AH if my computer worked.

Yes it is good...yes hackers have basically ruined the public servers. Right now I only play on whitelisted servers with the newest Survive Dayz mods and servers that have the Takistan or Fallujah maps; I rarely play on Lingor Island maps now.

I am getting burned out on the Alpha in its current state as development is somewhat stalled since apparently the two guys from Bohemia Interactive that were arrested in Greece for espionage charges were integral parts of the DayZ development staff and they are not coming home anytime soon. I guess you get problems like that when you take pictures of foreign countries military bases without asking permission first. I read the part about the staff being integral on the dayzmod.com forums from Rocket himself.

I wonder what these guys were thinking. And in Greece too.. the prisons are not exactly holiday camps and the bureucracy alone will take them months even if they won't get prosecuted!
