I’m getting ready for my kid’s graduation party. It’s going to be a casual, simple, party with the usual shredded chicken sandwiches and cake… But to make it special, I’m bringing out the big guns… I pulled these down from the rafters of the garage. They’ve been up there for a long time, and they are only used for special occasions…
Two antique White Mountain hand crank ice cream freezers. Each one will make 8 quarts of homemade ice cream. I put a can of Pepsi in the photo to give you an idea of just how big these are.
Her party is on Saturday, so I’ll mix and cook the ingredients on Friday. About five hours before the party I’ll start the first batch. When they are done, I’ll wrap the buckets in old blankets and let the ice-cream ripen (harden) until the guest are ready to enjoy it with the cake.
P.S. Everyone gets old fashioned vanilla. I they want something fancier, they can grab some mints or nuts from the tables and be just as creative as they want to.
CHEERS!
