you talking about the vision control center or the actual driver?  :D

seems like since amd released the 12.x series of catalyst packages they have had "microsoftitis", fix one thing break another...i'm running my xfx 6950 on 11.12 without a single hitch.

Agreed totally. So why are you trying to use it? Use ATI Tray tools and get a better app that does the same thing and more taking up less resources. Overclock using Afterburner if need be and there you go. I'm using Cat v12.4 and have no problems with this setup with a MSI R6950 2GB Twin Frozr III card. Haven't tried unlocking it to 6970 as it totally rocks for AH and couldn't see the point of it.

I might be misunderstanding your post, but know that Afterburner allows custom fan controls without touching the clocks.

Yes it does. You can make a custom speed/temp curve however you like. Mine never seems to break about 65c. Running in a Cooler Master CM-690-II Advanced case so airflow's good too. My max OC (just to say I did) is 935 core/1430 mem/ 1.23v/+20 power. Stock speeds play AH flawlessly so I just run them.
