White hides dirt and scratches way better than black or darker paint.

White hides dirt and scratches way better than black or darker paint.

i owned a white car. i can tell you it does nothing to hide dirt. it shows up just as badly....if not worse, than it does on black. you are correct though, it does hide scratches, and even small dents/dings.

ok, here's what i've done. the claybar did nothing. i used it in conjunction with the speedshine, as instructed by griots. no visible signs of anything coming off on/in the clay whatsoever. i did an area about 4" either way from the poop stain.
next up was the griots polishing compound. this did remove most of it. there's still an ever so slight blemish there....which still pisses me off, but at least now, in order to see it, i need to shine my drop light directly on it with a 100 watt incandescent bulb. don't anyone say anything about using incandescent. i like them. they work well.

so i guess, i'm gonna go re-read skuzzys post about sealer, and it's gonna be time to make a day of getting my baby protected from these flying poop machines.

Why?   Is there something magical about white paint besides being near impossible to match?

Ya white doesnt show the dirt as much but it's subject to the same stuff as any other colour.

    :salute

because I swear birds aim for black cars.  I can park the silver 2000 next to the black 2012 and there won't be a drop on the silver one and at least 4 poops on the black one.

CAP, clay only removes surface impurities washing will not remove.  It will not polish.  Matter of fact, if you use clay correctly (using two fingers to move it over the paint), you really cannot feel any drag.  It should glide and the only resistance should be coming from the impurities it picks up.  Be sure to turn the clay often.

The sealer will help to fill in the etched area of the poop bomb.  If this is the first time you have used sealer, be sure to:

1) Wash the car.
2) Clay the car.
3) You can go right to sealer here, but you might consider a finishing glaze and a paint restorer before sealer.  I do the glaze and restorer once a year and apply sealer 3 times a year.

Follow the instructions on the sealer.  Every sealer is slightly different.  Wolfgangs Sealer reqrueis 24 hours to cure.  During that time do not get it wet.  It does not need to be buffed, and requires no hand pressure or polishing machine to apply and remove.

Even when I place my R/T in the garage I put a cover on the car.  Birds have a nasty habit of ending up

in your garage also.  Also....not as prevelant but a big pain are Carpenter Bees.  Ya....the big black and yellow ones.

They nest on wood, as they eat the wood they digest and discharge it.  They don't leave huge stains as bird poop

but the small tan hued marks are also a pain in the arse.  I use Adams Detailing Spray regularly.  Makes it easier

to get buggs and any stains left by nature to remove.  Finish on the Hemi Orange is still show room fresh two years

after I purchased it.
