need help with TrackIR
« on: July 11, 2012, 04:14:16 AM »
I installed TrackIR 5 with the Pro Trac accessory.
I've read the manual but am still having problems setting up the "look up/look down" part of the program.
I have not been able to properly set up the "look up/look down axis".
In my last attempts, the horizontal axis is skewed; left low by about 15 degrees, and I have not been able to rectify that.
I knew I would have problems since I decided to get the Pro Trac extra because it sits offcenter.

Any help would be appreciated.

I did try some online time the way it is and I have no problem with the motion sickness that some players have mentioned. And even though the profile worked, to a limited degree of what I wanted, the experience was what I was expecting.

Far superior to the POV switch that I have trouble with because of my "silly putty" thumb(nerve damage from an old accident).
I'm still trying different things but any help would be appreciated.     :old:

What effect does hitting the F12 "center" function have?  (I have a button on my CH Pro Throttle programmed for this.)
You may have to rotate/elevate the camera unit on top of your monitor to center the "camera" view...?
Also, I use the plain reflectors on a baseball cap, and need to keep the camera *at least* arm's length away from the reflectors.

Send me a PM with your E-mail. I'll send you the best TrackIR profile I ever used. Its up to you to decide which axis's you want to check off. And set "smooth" to 25. Set your hotkeys to whatever you want.

I can send you my profile too.  which i got it from somebody else, cant remember who.  I have the speed set up at 1 and smooth at 10.  with a slower speed and smooth the game doesnt look blurry when you are looking around.  main thing is keep the "center" mapped to a button on your joystick same for the "pause".    when not in combat, i pause trackir and just use my thumbs to look around.  trakir dont work too well in f3 view so you must still use your thumb.  but once you get used to it, there no fighter in aces high where you cannot look fully behind you and that includes the f4u.

This video is the best tutorial I have ever seen for trackir. He uses dcsa10 as the simulator but any game would apply.

Not entirely true. Just enable pitch and yaw 2 axis in track ir and you can set your 6 o'clock view by locking the view with track it disabled. Once Trac ir is enabled when you look behind that view that you set will be what you see.
