Man lives in a 727

Pretty cool.  He bought it for $100k and paid $12k to have it delivered.  Of course, an old bomber would be better.

Awesome!

I have seen this before, but it was hung up in the trees.  I can't remember where I saw this, now.

$100k for this??? Looks like he spent his last $ when i see the inventory,
it looks like garbage inside, sorry. He should spend $100k more for a far
better look inside, similar to a luxury Yacht. The Cockpit would be a great
place for virtual flying :-)
I like the overall idea, but its far away from being finished IMHO.

I'll bet the retiring airbus, DC10, or L1011s don't cost a whole lot more than a 727 now and you have a much wider body.

I'm sure the guys who filmed "lost" know the price.

My dad used to fly this one.

The three 'R's are Reduce, Reuse, Recycle... in order of preference.  He's doing the second one, Reuse, not the third, Recycle.  So in theory that's good, better than recycling.  But I can't help but think the environmental impact would be less if something that big and made of metal was recycled instead of being used for a home that could be built using a lot less metal than that.

So I'm not sold on his idea on being so great for the environment, but that's just a guess, I haven't run any numbers on it (nor could I, not my area of expertise).  I am sold that airplane houses are a really cool idea though.  I agree that the insides need a lot more work.  It looks like he's squatting, not living.

Considering the space he has for his stuff, its pretty clean (in my eyes..then again my room is an organized mess). Yes, he could contact a local cabinet maker to build him some custom cabinets...but why? it would ruin the idea of it. I like it.
