Saitek X52 Hat Switch Issue
« on: July 25, 2012, 07:33:28 PM »
I have a Saitek X52 and have not changed any programming for months. It works, so why mess with it... Tonight I logged in and my top hat switch worked fine except for the up portion which is set up to look over my nose for shooting. It acted "stuck" even though the control panel for the stick shows it disengaging perfectly when I let go... First it tried putting me into a gunner position. So I went over to the profile and looked and couldn't figure out a problem - even though I noticed it worked fine if I engaged the pinky switch.

Uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers and that allowed me to "unstick" it but now I cannot get it to work for over the nose view again. I have tried programing it to keypad 8 or doing it in game - in game it does not even take me to the button when I press it as though it does not exist.

Anyone have any pearls of wisdom please? It has drove me crazy this evening.

Thanks.

Try leaving the saitek page open - the one where you can see all your buttons etc working (cant remember the name of it). This will let you use all of the buttons on the x52, and might fix whatever the problem with the switch is. No guarantee's tho.

Try game controller, properties, then open and leave it open while you play.  You should see a screen that shows all the buttons working in red.

Wound up starting up today and almost forgetting it. On a whim I launched and everything worked fine.
