I also seem to recall an texture editor he wrote called V-Tech or something that allowed you to change the cockpit graphics around.

That sounds very familiar.... that was in the early 90's I think
was flying AH in Nov.99 during beta..... then went nearly full time, starting in 2001....
but still played AW up til Dec.2001
edit: to add Kesmai.com is one of the first ever web domains ( the first 30 that is ) and is the ForeFather of all online air combat MMO type games like we have today......
and yes both hitech and pyro played and/or worked at/for Kesmai ( on the Air Warrior game ), before venturing off and building a completely new competing ww2 air combat sim War Birds, before selling out and downsizing to build Aces High..............and the story just grows and grows after that........ MS combatfighter, IL2, targetware, FA, etc....all started popping up ..... Air Warrior lasted nearly 14 years ...... and Aces High has lasted nearly the same....... guess we can check back in another decade to see how far AH has gone hopefully
