Don't shoot the messenger!

No ill thoughts towards you.

Thankfully all the first responders are expected to fully recover.  Hubig's is an "institution" down here and many fail to realize that this fire will put a significant amount of people out of work.  It's just not funny when you look at a business that size and realize how many lives are impacted now that it is gone.

In my eyes, I understand it's in our nature to poke fun, but in yet another instance, it is prudent to think about those affected before opening one's trap.

It was a business that helped feed the first responders after the catastrophe of Katrina.  I read the article and the part about the fire fighters trying to put the fire out with there tears.  The story said they will rebuild, and I hope they can use the current employees to help accomplish that.  We have a pie factory here in Tulsa that makes most of the biscuits and pies for McD's.  They also make the best, small pecan pies in the world.

I apologise Bodhi if I caused you or folks in New Orleans offence, I see your point.
It might have been a wee bit flippant, no offence was meant.

I wish them all well in re-establishing their pie factory and bring back what appears to be an institution.

We laugh at how screwed things are.

We would lose what little sanity we have left otherwise.

With a little luck, the company had business interuption insurance as part of their property insurance policy. Ive delt with business' that have been utterly destroyed, and the policy provides not only loss of income payments to the affected company, but also covers the payroll to the employees while the company is not producing their chosen product.

Always sad to loose an institution like that, you can never replace the history, but maybe they will come back stronger, and more profitable due to redesigns and upgrades to mfg.........I see this all the time (its my profession)...my fingers crossed for all the folks down there.

Glad the first responders are all safe  :aok
