Of Loyalty and Passing
« on: August 07, 2012, 10:11:49 AM »
I am proud to work besides a woman with such courage.

Last night, her husband passed away of 35 years.  About 11 years ago, she had divorce papers in her hand to give to her husband after he had been cheating on her.  The same day she was supposed to serve these papers to him, Chuck suffered a massive stroke. Chuck then was a vegetable requiring help to go place to place.

She put away her divorce papers, hurt and betrayed she carried on with his care.  She fed him, gave him medicine and changed her diapers.  This man was a 250 lb man and she just turned 60 years old so imagine the labor she has went through to keep him going.  throughout the years he suffered mild strokes.  She was the breadwinner of the two and got into debt for his medicine to keep him alive.

She has sacrificed so much including her personal life to care for him.  Last night at the hospital when the doctor said he will not make it, she stayed besides him at the bed, held his hand until his last breath.  Chuck is out of his hell and into a better place.

This is about Loyalty until the very end.  Let's appreciate her for her bravery and not second guess what she should have done otherwise.
