Invisible buildings?
« on: August 09, 2012, 10:43:50 AM »
This has occurred twice now.  While in B29s and below 28 K only 3 to 4 buildings appear visible in town.  I have used zoom to no affect and have consequently had to bomb strictly by intersections.  I have all my settings set to Max and environmental set to approximately 50%.  When I go to F3 and zoom the buildings are visible.  While over airfield everything is visible.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I need to see a DXDIAG output.  You could be overwhelming a video resource.

Hopefully you are not using that ATI/AMD sound device on your video card.  It will cause all manner of problems.

What are your settings like in the "Options->Graphic Detail->Advanced" panel.  I am going to guess you are running the video card out of resources, but I need the anti-aliasing settings you are using, along with the game settings to be sure.  1GB of vide RAM is not enough video RAM to run with everything maxed out, along with anti-aliasing.

I just did my morning B29 run on the Trinity map.  I have turned environmental mapping down to 20% and the problem seems to have gone away.  I also have shadow on shadow off.  The picture now seems much sharper.  Thank you

I am not using the ATI/AMD sound driver I'm using real tec.  Smooth shadow, local water reflections and shadow on shadow is off.

Then you need to disable that AMD/ATI sound device, as it will cause some issues, such as stuttering and possibly stability problems as well.
