Some of the old Infocom games were very engrossing, like 'Deadline', where you got physical materials to go along with the text game.

Half-Life, Max Payne, and EQ (the lore that made up the background) were very good.

Strike Commander for Dos 6.0

It's the year 2011 and you own a squadron of F-16s based in Turkey.  You and your fellow mercenary employees have to make ends meet by taking contracts to work for governments and corporations.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

No mentions for any Warcraft or Starcraft games?  I'd put every single one of them in the list from Warcraft 1 on to Starcraft 2 and WoW.  I'm guessing Diablo 1-3 should also be on here but I've never played them.

Edit:  Also, Portal.

The older Resident Evil games had a great story line

Dead Space has an amazing story line

Assassins Creed 1 and 2 are great. I'm on Revolutions right now, and I'm kind of just starting to fall apart because every time you get all the good stuff, you lose it all in the next game.

Dues Ex: short game, amazing story line

Mass Effect will top a lot of games for a very long time

I've been playing Borderlands and I think it's an overall great game, can't wait for the second one to come out.

Can never ever forget any of the Final Fantasy games, every game is a great story line.

Gears of War, another great story line

Halo

That's really all that I can think of right now.

Never played any of the games you all mentioned (except pacman). :headscratch:

I liked Blazing Angel's storyline on Wii from initial training to when Joe gets shot down and everything in between.  I really felt a connection with those three guys. :cry
