Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
« on: August 14, 2012, 12:18:04 AM »
Saw it with the girl the other night.

We actually watched the movie.... so it does have some merit.

The action is flat out AWESOME, and the plot is actually engaging. Students of history such as myself will try picking characters and events throughout the movie. The CGI and acting are both superb and the character development is truly stellar.

Now.... the downsides.

Cliches..... that word haunts this movie like a relative long since dead. They are all in there, Emancipation Proclamation, Gettysburg Address, the lot. Its irritating how many moments you can almost guess what they are going to say.

but, no matter how many good points you can find..... the politics of this movie absolutely destroys and maims it.

It boils down to the old story of "The Victor Writes the Story".

SPOILERS:

The vampires are all based... guess where?

The South, and they work with Jefferson Davies to supply the Confederacy with Evil Vampire soldiers to destroy the Union and turn America into the LAND OF THE GODLESS.........

I think as this game holds a lot of "dixie boys". Im pretty sure this movie will bring your pride out with a vengeance.

The book was good!
The movie was nothing like the book!!!
I walked out of the theater wondering how wrong they were with the movie!

I give the book 3 stars!
I give the movie 0 stars!

I saaw the movie first then read the book. Two completely different stories. And as much as I enjoyed the movie. After I was done reading the book. I was ticked off they didnt make that movie instead.

I'll wait until it comes out on the redbox so I can rent it for a buck.

wanna go to Michael Crichton eh? :aok you ever read his other books? Timeline is both a good book and movie but the movie... it's off from the story. not as much (thankfully) as Jurassic Park but man the book's story was so much better it made the movie seem like they were going for the love story more than anything else

I never read the book. Never even heard anything about it until the movie came out.

The Bride and myself both thought the movie was great!!! :rock

I highly recomend it for those who haven't seen it yet.

I'm sure it will be out on blu-ray very soon.
