I just saw a "Storm Stories" TV show about the landings on Omaha Beach with interviews from two of the first landers, a German defender and a metiorologist who was there. There may have been others.
Anyway it was pretty interesting and I'd be pretty sure it's somewhere out there so go look, it's worth the effort.
