Defending 34
« on: May 11, 2013, 11:42:03 AM »
<S> to the Freebirds, Commando Knowotny, and the 367th. Looks like we did pretty good. it was quite the furball and there were some friendly fire hits, but that's life in a furball. thanks to everyone for doing a great job. it was really alot of fun and we kept the carrier afloat, and thats all that matters! Great fight and great fun!! thanks again and <S> to all!

From KN, thanks. Those SBDs are tough. Not only to shoot down but they change from bomber to fighter in an instant. I actually was surprised to hear the bombs fall from the SBDs as I was flying through them. 21 or so is much better as a defense than the 9 our lone squad was assigned to do. 9v40 isn't fun. It's surprising to read that the SBD did dogfight in the PAC some. I died both frames to SBDs. (one to a collision just like the real Coral Sea story) I don't have a problem with SBDs cause it's also good piloting by the Allied guys in them.  :salute
