I have been in it before.  I didn't like it.  Dar settings, icon settings, and aeroplane availability were too limiting.  If it were more like I described in my OP, i would spend most of my time there, hopefully others would as well.  Also, perm large realistic maps where we can make progress towards wining the war would be better.

Am in it now... it's a very small Guadalcanal map... very limited aeroplane set.   Guadalcanal should be a small portion on a PTO map.  Nobody is here.  If we had a perm large PTO map with settings similar to MA, I think more people would enjoy it.

I'm sure it's fine for a special event... I'm wishing for two permenant arenas for PTO and ETO, large maps full aeroplane sets in appropriate countries, etc... as described in my OP.

Only aeroplanes / GVs available at these bases are WWI, even though the Arena message lists a few from WWII.

Just ask yourself, why is noone in the AvA?  My answer is because the settings are too different from what people know in the MAs and there is no real permenant war going on here as there is in the MA.

I dont see those as limiting factors.  More realistic in some respects yes but limiting, NO what happens in you PTO/ETO maps when everyon is over flying p51's v 190 and you want to figth a zeke but nobody is on that map? You go fly your zeke vs 190's in the ma so this is  yet abnother redundant and pointless request by you, do you think you are DW or something?

You know what Its worth a shot, why dont yo grab a few maps  and  creat 2 custom areans with the settings you want and see if anyone shows up, also you can reun preset missions  with the AI  too.  See if anyone else is interested in something like this.

Like I said set up a couple  custom areans with these settings and see if it works.

You're missing the point.   Custom arenas are not the MAs.   I've made my wish.

     I'll go, I want to hear the crying when everyone runs out of gas before getting to the fight.  Btw Midway, it's not historical if the distance
is halved for the 2x fuel burn

Well here is the AvA situation. We can't really have the same things as MA because we can't have win the war map resets.

Can't really have any usable perk or eny system.

Believe me, every setting imaginable has been tried.


We have tried many things with icons but those who said they wanted them on never really participated in the arena once we turned them on.

We have done some internal polling and we run the arena to what a strong majority of people who fly there want to see.

Thursday nights we do turn enemy icons on for the 8thAF mission.

I do have a future project in mind that would be a world at war terrain that would be split into pacific and ETO, MTO




You would still have a situation with plane sets unless you wanted to make it all latewar, but then you really wouldn't have the realism of early engagements like BOB etc.

I suppose you could do a rolling timeline.

Starting in September we will have a war going on Tuesday nights where the winners of each weeks battle will choose the next weeks for an overall victory strategy.

You're missing the point.   Custom arenas are not the MAs.   I've made my wish.

So you want to split the 400-600 people from the MA up into 3 arenas? with possibly 2 of them sitting empty? When the same setup cna be done in the AVA?

Ergo, my wish.  I also wish the PTO and ETO were permenant MA type arenas so we can battle there any time.  I suspect HTC would have to add this capability and it is not just some settings you can adjust.

I am on right now and want to be in the ETO or PTO and fight, but there are none.
