I think I understand what you are getting at.  You want to be rewarded for a heroic attack that was successful, but caused your untimely death.  Unfortunately AH doesn't offer the medal of honor, and as cartoon pilots...DYING DOESN'T HURT!
The end result if added would encourage more* suicidal attacks from dive bombing aircraft that have no hope of ever landing their sortie.  Rewarding this would be disruptive to gameplay.  It would encourage players by rewarding them to fly stupidly.

I think the concept you are describing actually makes sense...but not at all from a gameplay perspective.

Suicidal dive bombers 9x out of 10 get their perk points... All they have to do to insure this is get engines blown off or shut it off and add a little rudder so bombs hit first. A torpedo mission doesn't have even close to same hit % and not even close to the same survivial %. it's very very hard to torpedo a cv and hit it and even harder to live  to see it hit. Landing was forgotten when you took off in a torpedo plane In the first place. So no u don't get it...I bet u never even experienced a successful torpedo run. I can say that be cause u dare compare it to a dive bomb...shame, try it a few time and when u die evey single time and don't even hit anything, post here again and tell people about it. I'm not asking for something for nothing; a torpedo hit takes skill a dive bomb not really. There is a reason you rarely see torpedo planes. There is a reason jabo's and b26s are the planes that attack and sink cv's whole sale (because it's easy mode). I'll I want to see is want this game does anyway, gives underdogs more perks. I fly eny 30 rides in LW just for that reason.
