Real change to strat game
« on: August 30, 2012, 09:11:26 AM »
I’m a long time player in a squad of other long time players.   We have enjoyed the game, always looked forward to see what was coming in the new releases.  With AHII came a new gaming engine and tools with a promise that the changes were needed to allow HiTech Creations better tools to continue to enhance the game and make the job of creating those enhancements easier.
The game pretty much plays the same as it did 10 years ago , like Air Warrior played before that.  Shoot down the enemy aircraft, blow stuff up, Hangers, Ammo, Radar, Buildings in the town, put 10 troops in a map room, capture the field.  With all the “changes” that have come our way, all the code releases over the  last 10 years,  the “Game” hasn’t changed , targets are for the most part unchanged, and there is no ability to alter the basic strategy of the game.
Would like to see some better Maps, that actually have an impact on the game.  Roads with bridges over rivers that have an  impact on game play.    If I destroy the bridge   access to the town is cut off.  Engineering Troops that actually build or repair Bridges .   Be able to effect Trains by destroying the train or rail bed or bridges.  Also Roads that use bridges to cross rivers.   Looking for some strat targets  that impact the game play.

I like the thought process behind the OP when he suggests bridges that are the only ground access to a base. This would open the door for a "shot in the arm" with GV fights... New vehicles that have water forging capabilities or even a bridge layer for crossing destroyed bridges with one span out but the rest of the structure is in tact until more rods drop the rest of the spans on the bridge. You could add rivers into the existing maps to change the ground layout instead of remaking new maps. More things to do with the ground and GV fighting elements. Someone suggested more water vehicles which would be with the carrier fleet. That's cool also to add both of these elements would be "badass" for GV Wars!

Here's a wild idea: How about having GV spawn points linked to a base via a road or railroad with one or more bridges along them? Destory a bridge and you temporarily disable a spawn point.  Make 'em tough, and perhaps even put auto defenses around them. Drop supplies on a downed bridge and it rebuilds faster. Yeah, lots of issues to resolve, but just thought I'd through it out there and see what people think.

However, remember HiTech's ultimate rule of thumb regarding strat. Nothing strat should ever prevent a player from upping a plane or GV at a base, so long as the hanger is up.

It's not the game that brings me back.  it never has, it's the people themselves that bring me back.   when we start messing around on range or country that's what makes the game fun for me.

The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

I'm afraid I'm not following.  I only see what is printed and have no idea what you mean.   Sorry if I failed to communicate this better.  I understood you to say that what I was wishing for was already in the game and people were just not taking advantage of it.   I am looking for more objects to destroy and have combat over.   Bridges is one example.    are you saying that there are bridges in the game that can be destroyed and by destroying the bridges one could have an effect on game play?

I did not quote "bridges" for a good reason. I did quote "strat targets that impact the gameplay"

And strategic targets that impact gameplay and can be fought over we had and have. Since yesterday more impacting than ever before.
