Coming 4yrs in November..

Jumped into late war, as a Rook.. Port was under attack, so first go was a Wirble..
Got 3 kills, wanted to land them for a successful first action.. But the VH was down..
So here I am hangin on by a thread again, under a VERY RED sky, just like the last
time I played yrs ago.. Funny huh.. Well, not playing for a while, I turned my motor
off, too slow to restart, and Lankstukas got me while I was sitting still..

Second Go was a Hellcat off the carrier to try the save.. No go, base fell enroute..
So I see another Set of Lanks heading for the Boat.. I have altitude, so I dive on em..
LOL, I Blew the whole attack.. Forgot that Lanks are much faster ingame, than in Practice..
So instead of a good diving attack, I came up on their level six.. Then I forgot to rezero
my guns to 400yds.. So my .50's were too spread out, lacked the punch I needed for a Heavy..
I came in level from the left to right, raked first one good, 2 engines smoking, Hit the leader hard
at the wing root, down he went, drifted to the last one, left him trailing smoke too..
All without taking a single hit yet.. Cant believe what a missed opportunity that was.. Finally
his guns opened up on me, and I rolled down and away, tried to pick up a bit more speed
then zoomed up under for another swipe at them, but again my miss/sighted guns provented
a concentrated hit.. Raked the new lead plane again, in the belly this time, he caught fire!
Then the escort hit me, boom dead!

Was fun! Do it again soon!

i flew midwar last night. took out a set of lancs with my trusty ole peeeeee38. took me 4 or 5 passes.

When I was back in the tower, I thought about the scene in Magnificent 7..
Robert Vaughn, swipes at the flies, and says "Only one! Time was, when i woulda got all three.."

 well, something i think i saw....i'll have to look at the film tonight to see for sure.......the first one i hit, went in a 2 second burst. i forget the distance i fired from, but i scored hits mainly on the right wing. the second one took 2 passes.....first pass, i think i layed a VERY nice hit pattern down, from stern to stem, and he kept flying. again, i need to look at the film, as on the second pass on that one, i misjudged, and pulled into near blackout to get a guns solution.....and fired stupidly close. heard him go boom, but couldn't see it.

 third one, he was trying to turn into my attacks to take away the guns solutions, and eventually dove, which anyone with any smarts knows you can't do in a buff, and expect to get away.

I like to get the angle from the cockpit, thru the wing root and bombbay area..  Like 45deg angle.. Concentrate the hits, pour it into them.. If they catch fire, even better.. I just get out of range and wait a moment or so, down they go.. Still, I dorked the whole thing up.. Was in prime position, should have gotten a clean diving attack with a zoomout on the other side, putting me on the perch for another attack on the bombers, or able to counter the escort, or escape..

Gotta work on it..
