R/C Flight Simulator
« on: September 18, 2012, 11:56:05 AM »
Does anyone know of a good r/c flight simulator available for download?  There seems to be a lot to choose from on Google.  Getting ready to check out
R/C Desk Pilot.  Just wondered if there's a simulator that some folks consider being close to the real thing.

Thanks...

FMS (flying model sim) is the one I have used, and it is a free download.  Lots of third party plane models to add also.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

ClearView RC Flight Simulator

R/C Desk Pilot

Both are kinda' fun and have free trials.  I don't see any time limitation on the trial, just not a whole lot of aircraft to choose from.
I'm playing around with the helo's.  lol, I thought I was terrible in a plane.

A buddy of mine just gave me one of his r/c planes last week to learn with.  Maybe something like this is a good idea for me.

I just got back from a trip down to Rochester, visiting my cousin.  He had one of these rc sims on his computer, but the controller was built just like the
ones you use to fly the actual rc planes.  He had a couple planes hanging on his wall, but he couldn't get the engines to start.  :(
I agree though, something like this would be great to get the feel of flying in a 3rd person view.
I bet after a few hours of practice on the sim, you could make a three pointer in RL.

I think most of the folks that play Aces High wouldnt have much of a problem flying rc.  I took a friend of mine flying back in the springtime, he had played AH offline on my laptop at work(during lunch of course) and within about 10 minutes he was making a figure8 around the field losing and gaining very little altitude.  I would moist deffinetly reccomend a trainer, and joining a club.  its a blast :rock
