A buddy of mine just gave me one of his r/c planes last week to learn with. Maybe something like this is a good idea for me.
I just got back from a trip down to Rochester, visiting my cousin. He had one of these rc sims on his computer, but the controller was built just like the
ones you use to fly the actual rc planes. He had a couple planes hanging on his wall, but he couldn't get the engines to start.

I agree though, something like this would be great to get the feel of flying in a 3rd person view.
I bet after a few hours of practice on the sim, you could make a three pointer in RL.
