Need Recommendations for New Joystick
« on: September 22, 2012, 12:29:32 PM »
Well my Attack 3 Logitech joystick has just about run it's course. This joystick has formed my trigger finger into the itchy thing it is today ever since 2007. However half the buttons don't work it's filled with gunk but I need a new one. I'm looking for these things in a joystick.

1-Comfortable (curves to hand) :O
2-effective
3-able to reach
4-A trigger that doesn't make the annoying sounds that all the cheap plastic ones do. I want that satisfying CLICK noise that you hear, from when you know you got him.

Heck if anybody's got a real joystick from an F-16 and configured it to PC I'll take it. I kinda feel like taking my joystick though and just upgrading it, you know. Clean it out rebuild the thing and keep that ever so loving trigger in it. I remember when I started shedding skin and growing muscle, from using that dang trigger too much. If a pilot doesn't pull his loving trigger out of his crashed plane than I don't know what kinda pilot he is. Anyway know any good joysticks?

Budget range I would say maximum would have to be $120.

Im sure you would get a lot more responses in this thread http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/board,18.0.html it is the "hardware" thread. Also, if you run a search for joysticks in that thread over the last 365 days I'm sure you'll have all kinds of info to go on.

I've had my Logitec Attack 3 for about 5 years now, and its still going strong.

Its actually been trough the wash when I threw it into the laundry hamper during a rage-quit.

Its just a basic joystick, but one of the nice things is that it still has a z-axis that I use for throttle or breaks (so I can just set the breaks and have both hands free to keep my prop from clipping the ground  :D).

But I mean unless you're looking for something with a hat switch for views, or a twisty or something, its a great stick.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

I have this CH stick+ pedals since 2003, still working ok, toughbuilt, i can't stick stirr hard enough to break it,;now is way cheaper, i paid 500-600$ for both;well 60$ over your budget, but next year you are going to buy another one cheaper.
