date ideas KC
« on: September 19, 2012, 12:26:15 AM »
I've been floating around the midwest lately and am looking for some advice from the locals for good spots. Neither of us are old enough to get into a bar, so really I'm looking for a good date venue.

The closer to Kansas City Downtown airport, the better.

Thanks all.

Depends on what u want to do. Can always go to get BBQ. A lot of places will have live music if on a weekend. BB's lawn side BBQ is always fun. Good music and dancing. Not just a bar either so no prob on age but will be fun. If your girl likes art the Nelson art museum has interesting exhibits.  Couple ideas from a former long time kc resident.

Take her to the zoo... that way if she compares you to anything you should come out on top.  :lol

Going out to get good eats is always a good idea. Be sure what types of food she likes and doesn't like. Hitting museums is always a good idea.

Don't forget that in small towns the main street is most always a nice fun stroll. A place like Fredericksburg has a nice main street that has lots of little shops.

If she likes horses go out for a day ride. If you don't have horses you can rent them for guided rides all over.

Take her to something that you want to do, not something you think might impress her, or something you think she wants to do.

Don't BS her into a relationship.  If she does not like to do what you like to do, then kick her to the curb, and move on.

If you do not have anything in common during your first few dates, what chance of a future could you possibly have?

This is of course is if you have asked her out.  If she has asked you out, make her choose what she wants to do and you will learn from that.

No matter what she chooses to do, go there with an open mind, embrace the experience especially if it something you would never have chosen
and you may learn something about yourself.

If you don't mind dropping the coin, go to the "Plaza III" steakhouse.  Fantastic service, and if they know that you're on a date they'll go out of their way to make it memorable.  I've had nothing but great experiences every time I visit there.

After that, a horse & carriage ride through the Plaza area can be quite a nice way to continue the evening.  They offer them year round, and they're especially nice when all the Christmas lights are up.

if you have to spend money to show her a good time...ditch her or start replying to the e-mails in your junk folder.
