Film Viewer Options
« on: September 28, 2012, 03:03:02 AM »
Having started having some fun fights, so I've come to the decision I'd like to make a film of them.  However, I'm having some serious problems.

1) A free move camera.  No, I don't want to have to have the camera always moving.  Most of the time, I want to see what's going on from a camera that's sitting still.

2) Faster camera movement.  The planes move faster than the camera,  getting the camera ready for a long range shot is grueling.  And a wrong click will make me start all over again.  Holding down Shift or Ctrl I would think.

3) Trails that don't vanish/reset when I don't want them too.  Setting up a camera angle is rather difficult when going back to the start of a shot removes trails.

4) Ability to role the camera.

6) Why does it use Fixed Camera for 'Film Shots' / 'World Relative'?  When the shot finishes, the camera leaps to a completely new position, making a seamless transition from one shot to another an incredibly, INCREDIBLY difficult ordeal.

I've been trying to setup panning camera shots that run off one another for a smooth, movie like experience, but I keep hitting a wall where the software just won't let me do some certain things.  I'm having to find work arounds that are filled with guess work, and don't really work.

Even just the free camera being used instead of Fixed Camera for World Relative would be a massive boon.

Please, PLEASE fix the Film Viewer.  I've got some beautiful footage that I want to do justice, but the limits of the software just aren't letting me do so.

EDIT: I didn't include this in the list, because I'm 100% sure that I just can't find it, because it just seems so obvious, but is there an option to run each Film Shot one after the other without having to select each one and press play manually?  If there is one, I just can't find it.  If there isn't, why?  As is, I'm having to take individual videos of each shot, and hacking them together.

I think for this part they should have an option to input 10 different views based on time.  Ex:  0:50 f3 view, 1:24 f1 view, 1:28 F4 view etc etc.

Up to say... 15 views per video or something of that sort.  So when the video plays, when it hits 0:50, it goes to the f3 view, and so on so forth.

I think that would be efficient.  At the very least make it easier to go between shots with.    Then make it so that you could switch to the enemy plane with a specific view aswell, at certain times.  so at 1:30 switch to f4 view (while looking back) to get that awesome "death" shot.

Just my 2 cents.

If we have something to show we will & do post shots, if we have nothing new to show we don't.

Could I just get an instruction manual? I watch my films but have no idea how to edit them or take screenshots of some of the neater things I have on "tape."

Been finding workarounds that kind of work, but now I've figured out my biggest problem.

Please have a button that plays all shots in sequence.  It REALLY, REALLY needs one.  None of my attempts to cut it together are working properly.  The sound jitters, I'm having to get picture perfect cutting.

New wish.  Put a 'Play All Shots' button.  Please.

Bomb cam, ho yes!
