SHOGUN

I just watched the miniseries from 1980.  I found it very good even as I got older.  Anybody else watched it before?

I've been catching bits and pieces on cable. Looks kind of cheesy today but when it first was shown on TV I watched it all.

Still a good show.

Watched it in 1984 as part of a special course in high school.  Was a bit hard to follow for me at 14, especially broke in to too many one hour segments.

I'd watch it again today.

I've read all of Clavell's novels, and enjoyed everyone.

Shogun was a good story and the mini-series followed the book pretty well.

I never knew it was a book.  I'll look into that.

Watched it ages ago, remember it was excellent..
Don't have it in my collection, wish that I did!

Those old "miniseries" were a good way to portray
a story too vast to be told in a single film format..

"Centennial" and "Holocaust" were other good ones..

Saw it when I was a kid.  We didn't have cable and my dad was a PBS / Jeopardy fanatic and it was the only thing he watched while monopolizing the lone Television in our house.

We were also the last family on our block to get a microwave.

If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.
