That was an epic twist & turn.  One that I will remember for a very long time.

We were coming in as attack fighters prepared to drop and fight when needed, knowing we had to bring as many of you down as possible to attempt to get bombers in with their escorts.  Imagine our surprise when we saw N1Ks, Ki-61s, and A6M5s about two key pads to target.

Going into a slight nose dive and trying to stay in formation I kept calling out bogeys that were within 600 of ABLE flight.  And they were closing and beginning to swarm.  Rodent57 and I kept slowly diving and accelerating only to see more diving in.  As Rodent57 started to pull away and looking back to see 3 Ki-61s and at least 1 N1K hot and zeroing in on me, I pickled and went right, up and jabbed the rudder.  Every time I thought I could take a breath, another plane was taking a turn on me.

Yes...   ...poor SlipKnoT was a door knob last FSO frame...

Fortunately, BFOOT1 made it in time to break up a REALLY tough fight.  I barely escaped that anchor.

After a near death experience, I was following a Ki-61 back to their fleet when Rodent57 was rounding us all back up to RTB.  When I gave my position, he said, "get out of there and go home".  Just when I received that call, G3-MF's DOG flight was leaving the fleet area.  AKP had one hot on his 6.  As I got there, he went down and I suddenly found myself in a head on.  I immediately (and on the deck) ruddered right then began a hard roll to go into another close on the deck fight and the plane pulled into me.

Being as low as I was, I punched out.  Somehow I got captured instead of killed.  I still don't know how that happened.  I don't know how I was able to live that long.

A big  :salute to all you guys.  You maintained pressure on me for so long I needed to take a shot of whiskey to calm down my nerves.  It is funny how a cartoon game can play tricks on your nerves the way it does.  My pulse was racing (and I am in good shape)...  HA!!!

WTG over there.  The Defense was something to experience!!!
