Real Gun Camera Footage. Can anyone ID this mystery plane?
« on: October 13, 2012, 12:38:27 PM »
I have seen this footage many times but I just can't ID the plane to anything in WWII. It seems it has a high T-tail.
Anyrate its the very last film footage at the very end of the video.

Bf109G or K.

Yeah I think so too (109G/K) - it looks kind of t-tailed because you are viewing it from the low 6 position - when it spins left you can see the vertical stab.  I also think he has a bit of flaps down which is why you have that thick inner wing look - I almost thought this was an F84 Korea shot until it spun.

Definitely a 109. You can see the supercharger intake on the left side of the nose sticking out.

Yeah I agree about the supercharger---------its definitely a 109. I have seen this footage many times on television and it plays so fast that the only thing my eyes locked onto was that high T-tail. That T-tail is an optical illusion due to the angle of the viewing.
