Winning the war dumps you to desktop
« on: October 14, 2012, 11:00:14 PM »
My wish is that when the war is won and the terrain changes, it dumps you back to the lobby rather than crashing the game. Nothing major, just a simple little request.

I'm still in favor of a singularity sucking the entire map down to the size of an atom - and then dumping you to desktop.

Seems like the win deserves some sort of show.

what if we dont have the lobby enabled?  you have like several minutes to get to the lobby, not like it comes as a surpirse.

Let me clarify. I really meant this screen.

I had my terminology mixed up a little.

Just as the terrain is about to change a nuclear bomb explodes vaporising everything and plunges the map into a nuclear winter

I agree with the OP, the transition feels "unfinished".  The result of this unfinished transition could leave many players in confusion as to what happened.  Especially if you were AFK on climb out which is not uncommon.  Sometimes things need to not be taken for granted, but literally spelled out.  For example *"Your team won"! Click "here" to accept your perk bonuses.
In AW days that would not even be considered out of place, but that was a very long time ago and consumers expectations have changed. "taken for granted, or it doesnt matter, deal with it" as semp states may work for him, but it does not reflect (imo) the majority of the players.  I doubt many understand how a war is won beyond the concept of take a lot of the enemies bases.

It has always seemed odd to me that any time you disco or the map changes you have to exit the game completely.

Aye, HT should make it more convenient and appealing to rejoin the online MA. Crashing to desktop kind of snaps you out of your trance and makes you realize you haven't slept or changed your underwear in three days...  :O
