Blinking Icon
« on: October 21, 2012, 10:48:33 PM »
If your GV has taken damage, enter dot command "Flash" and your icon begins to blink until supplies have been delivered. It would be easier for someone to see your location and there would be less use of vox when you are turreted or tracked.

Sort of gives an unfair advantage to friendlies now, doesn't it?  The enemy GV doesn't get icons, although blinking icons would be
handy for those pesky ground attack aircraft looking for easier kills.

The idea of a blinking or flashing icon would be to facilitate the delivery of supplies. That is it. There is no advantage as all three countries would have this option. The storch locates and marks GV's at almost every tank battle. The planes use zoom to find their positions because of reduced icon range. The bombers use F3. I don't see an unfair advantage. A flashing icon for friendliest does not change the way the battle is played. It is just an idea so the m-3 driver can deliver supplies quicker. If you ask the GV'ers who needs supplies, often you will hear several sound off at once. Blinking or flashing icons will get him headed in the right direction for prompt delivery.

Perhaps a change of friendly icon color would work better.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

it would only help from the air and  they can already see your name.  from the ground it's hard to see due to hills, rocks, etc.  so a blinking icon may not be of much help.
