In regards to ships you get several messages when damaging them. There are several things on a ship that can be destroyed and since they are so closely packed together many times one bomb hit will generate several destroyed object messages (as seen in Cap's screen shots). When you sink the ship you get a separate message in stating that you sunk the ship and it is recorded in the raw logs. A ship is not recorded as a structure.

BTW....notice the speed? i had no clue those crates could dive that fast and survive, lolololol
