I think he was looking for my squaddie ahead of me with the formation of 29s but instead he found me and I had not noticed the dar bar till I was about 10 miles out so no room at 30k especially with that b29 to move he was dak one if anyone cares

Sounds like you should've stayed with your squaddie and/or asked him to hold up.  As for not noticing the dar bar, no ones fault but your own.  So, "dak one" got ya?  Good for him.  I'll give him a congrats later, if I remember too. :D

More I read, more I think you're just upset you lost a handful of perkies...

This IS the primary issue here, seeing as there are no reasons given as to WHY the perk cost of the B-29 should be lowered.

it should be lowered because when there any planes in your area and they are as high or higher than you then you are dead meat especially in a single I mean 93 perks is kind of ridiculous for 1 plane that can't go above 400mph climbs like a slug  and handles horrible at alt no matter how fast you are going
I want a fast bomber that doesn't handle bad and climbs good and still packs a punch I could take the AR234 its half the cost of a b29 the only things the b29 has over the AR234 is bombload and firepower and range

Dead meat? With all the speed and the massive armament you are carrying?

If you find yourself being dead meat in a 30k B-29 (especially if the enemy is a G-6!).... well, in this case it's really the pilot, and not the plane :)

No, the Bf109G-6 cannot have a 30mm cannon in AH.  It can have an extra two 20mm cannons in underwing gondolas though.

Your gunnery seems to be the weak point here, not the B-29 itself.

I still think the cost should be lowered to about 70-80 perks rather than 100 but thats my opinion so yeah fire away

It is a very powerful unit and the ultimate bomber of WWII.  It is to the bomber guys what the Me262 is to the fighter guys and the Tiger II is to the tank guys.

Further, one decent sortie in the Ki-67 or G4M1 can net you 30+ perk points.  It isn't hard to recover what you lost.

For perspective, I lost the first B-29 I took up without dropping a bomb from it and having fired only a few rounds when a Ta152H-1 hit me with a single 30mm round from over 1000 yards away and lit me on fire.

The first B-29 I ever took up, I got killed by a rocket from a 110.   :cry  If a 110 can kill a B-29 then the plane is obviously not worthy of the perk price it has now.

A B-29 pilot last night (drunk, I assume) rolled into one of our bases at ~8k...

I had upped a heavy 51-D to support an attack and happened to be in the right place at the right time.

It took two passes absolutely HAMMERING the right wing, at convergence and closer, to get one plane to burn.

However, I absorbed a pretty staggering amount of damage myself...  I figured I'd had it, but I was able to land...  dunno if the 20mm's were missing or if I just got lucky.

I'd be all for reducing the perks, however, simply because they are fun to shoot down.  But honestly it seems good the way it is.

The B29 wings seem to be able to absorb quite a bit of damage while the front fuselage is pretty vulnerable.

I can empty a bunch of ammo into wings and get nothing but move to fuselage and they simply go "poof" and disappear.

Noted!  I will try this the next time I run into one.
