I'm no expert, but off the top of my head I can't think of a single movie where Brad Pitt has played an 'action hero'   :headscratch:

Maybe there is something I am missing

Inglourious Basterds

Burn After Reading

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Troy

To name a few. I didn't mean to imply that he always plays action-based characters.  More than anything else, I'm betting he just just wanted to be at the center of the film, and doing something more than just interviewing others.

I suppose I just have a different definition of what the term 'action hero' means in relation to movies

For example,  I really wouldn't consider Pitt's role in Inglourious Basterds to be an action hero :)  But I understand Sabre's point re: WWZ
Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.

Read the books  going to avoid the film.  Should be done like a documentary with talking heads and flash backs of action ( like the US army  in the Rockies  or Israel) .   Fed up of crappy films .  I hated the new "Total Recall" .
