Kudos to the pilot and his skills. He avoided close housing, was able to make belly landing in parking lot.

given a choice between crashing into a house or a parking lot, I would choose the parking lot every time.  no use in choosing the house that will kill me.

the pilot did a good job of trying to save himself under the circumstances and that was to avoid the houses.  if there was no parking lot his next option would have been a street, little bit harder with all the wires around.  last option or no option would have been a house.
