I saw Sox & Martins cars run many times in the 1960's at Island Dragway in NJ. They were unbeatable.

my first car was a 1960 mercury marquis 2 door and is now slowly rotting into the ground behind my parents home waiting for time and money for a resto

I would also love to get ahold of a 1939 or 1940 plymouth business coupe
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

My Dad has a 53 Ford that looks like it just came off the show room floor, except for the Offenhauser heads and blower on the flat head V-8, plus a few other tidbits in the engine bay.  Runs pretty good.

My Challenger had the 340 with the 727 slap stick shifter......would love to get another, one day so I guess that would be my answer to the OP

the day I brought it home
(Image removed from quote.)

crashed it looking for my missing daughter (The only time I crashed it)
(Image removed from quote.)

met a MOPAR guy he did the work on the front end.....he charged me 500$....... :O

this was taken at chryslers at carlisle...you can see mine in the background
(Image removed from quote.)

it was unbreakable......wasn't the absolutely fastest off the line, it had I think 289 gears in it......but it would do 150 all day long....

nothing have I seen could take what that 340/727 combo could deal with, when I say I put it to the test....you can be sure that is exactly what I did with it.....

man I wish I knew then what I know now.

Am I the only one who finds that slightly suspicious?

worked on an old ladys house out in the stick here in vermont a couple years back.  The guy I was working with and I were talking cars, and she comes walking over and asked us if we liked cars, so of course we were like YA.  she takes us on a walk to this barn that looked like it was going to fall over any second, I wouldnt even store a wheel barrow in it.  We had to open the doors and there was a tarp covering something.  She tells us to pull the tarp off, so we started to take the tarp off and once we got the tarp off there sat a 1929 Ford rumbleseat.  MINT!!! you could eat off of the floors, the engine compartment didnt even have a spec of oil around inside.  She was the 3rd owner of it.  back in the early 30s her father bought it off of a family friend, she then inherited it from him. I was in SHOCK AND AWE at the sight of that.

:rofl :rofl yeah right not being paid what we were being paid, her kids were already starting to fight over who was going to get it, we told her to sell it and treat herself to a good vacation to someplace where she had always wanted to go, instead of worrying about the problem it was going to cause when she passes away

I was there till about noon but the bus didn't make it. I did a trany swap and the rebuilt unit I put in it was no good. First Bug Jam weekend my bus missed in 5 years.  Had to drive this down...
