Had the Arkansas-LSU "Battle for the Boot" yesterday as well. It was frustratingly close because I had expected us to get blown out. So many missed opportunities: fumble on the lsu 2 yard line, numerous redzone stalls, settling for a fieldgoal from the goal line deep in the 4th quarter... I believe we've had 24 turnovers this season alone!!!

Final: LSU 20 - ARK 13

Fumble on the 2, the story of our season.

Congrats on that 12-0 season that pretty much means nothing...  :t

It does show, as much as I feel Tressel got the shaft, that Ohio State under Urban Meyer will be a strong contender next year.. im not getting into my feelings on the whole bowl bn thing...  12-0 is nothing to sneeze at, bowl or not.

I'd rather have Tressel than the kids he stuck his neck out for. I want Meyer to be good for the program and I hope Fickle has been paying attention because I think he has the makings of a very good coach with two top tier mentor figures in Sweatervest and Meyer.

I don't believe OSU would beat whoever the "best" out there is this year but with a little SEC style blood in the Big Ten (counting to 10 not a prerequisite for conference admissions specialists) they'll be well on their way as things mature under Meyer.

Actually Oregon and Oregon states is a older rivalry by 5 years it started in 1894  Arizona and Arizona states started in 1899.

Yeah, should have said one of the oldest. We do have the oldest rivalry game trophy in the nation though.

I think everyone knew Ohio State will be a great team under Urban Meyer.  Urban Meyer is a hell of a coach and hands down my favorite coach as a Gator fan.  That man has produced good teams every year where he has head coached.  His passion for the game is unmeasurable.  Watching the pre-season special on him on ESPN I could only imagine what it must be like playing for him.  Urban Meyer will have some great recruiting seasons coming up with his ties to the SEC and the great recruiting that happens every year anyways that the draw that Ohio State has to prospects.

Was really hoping for Notre Dame to lose yesterday as then the Gators would have been in the BCS title game.  I dont think anyone was expecting the Gators to be a top 10 team and the fact that they were in the hunt for the BCS title game is a huge surprise.  Jeff Driskel has emerged as a good QB in his first starting season.  A QB that Meyer saw as the next Tim Tebow.  Good thing they are a very young team as next year they will be a very tough team to face with not many seniors on the team and hell of a recruiting class right now.  Still not a fan of Muschamp's decision to go to a pro style offense though.

In my opinion I dont consider LSU to be a top 10 team.  That offense is way to shaky and the only thing keeping them remotely talking about is the defense.
