it's while your beavering away , minding your own business then the panic hits , getting lost then running low on food .

I think you would enjoy Amnesia: The Dark Descent then.  :)

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

How to make fire in MineCraft

http://youtu.be/LnjSWPxJxNs

 :rofl :rofl :rofl

Ah...I missed the fast spreading fire.  Which is why I play on Hard or Hardcore modes only now.  Fire will spread very close to that now. :t

I got hooked on that game like none other... I still run a tekkit server, though it's currently been dead since August.  People will probably come back in a few months, usually happens in cycles.

Single player it's very boring, but multiplayer is awesome... collaborative builds are a blast.

This was the capitol of the server, Emain Macha, early on (Facing west):

6 months or so later (Same shot, but higher up and facing southwest):

That's not even 5% of the city itself, that's just part of the stuff I made, you can buy and sell things in the market there (by the big tree).

Then I added the floating fortress over it:

And

A smidge of the exterior of something I build long ago and imported (That's a TIE/IN on the pad, and a Viper in the hangar  :rock )

Then the testament to my nerd digital lego fixation... a 1:10 scale ISD:

And inside:

The map is here: http://www.80hd.net:8123/

Server is just www.80hd.net

All AH'rs are free to join... if a mod is on, tell them Tunnelrat cleared you, or PM me on here and I will give you build permissions.

You will need the Tekkit client to play (it adds about 10,000 new things to build... like nuclear reactors and such)

Oh, as far as the game goes, it's a creative outlet like non-other... the Tekkit stuff adds some very very intensive builds where you can construct automated factories, quarries, etc...

That server and everything on it was built by hand, no /give, all SurvivalSMP.

(Though the fortress was built post-tekkit, hence the flying ring, etc you can make)

Oh, of the bajillion mods we have, VoxelPort is one of them... you can get on any of the ships in the harbor and they will take you to different ports...  that Tie Interceptor, if you climb in and get into the cockpit you will port to the ISD.

Okay...you have tekkit.  I know you can make a much "smoother" ISD. :)  Redpower saws FTW. :rock  Nice work on the ISD though. :aok

id so go for it, it does get boring after a bit but like so many point out there are many ways to extend the life, and you still find yourself going back at times

I wish people would use the wish list forum to post their brilliant ideas, and be smart enough to not post all their stupid ones.

But I am under no disillusions of my wish ever being fulfilled.

Just remembered, if you want to join up there (or your kid, I have plenty of moderators that keep it under control)

You will need the Tekkit client and then set it to run  Tekkit 3.1.2 | 1.2.5 until I go through the hell of updating everything again.

If what I'm reading from your posts are assumed correctly, then that will help them with dealing with Tekkit. :aok

My teens love it.  There's no limit to what your kid can do. If I wasn't using a kindle I'd talk for hours about how awesome it is.

I could almost go as far to say it's quite healthy for me, since it keeps me busy enough that I don't smoke for hours while playing MC. :)

All of my kids (5, 8, and 10 years old) are hopelessly addicted to the game.  It's an essentially harmless sandbox game that allows unfettered creativity.  While I disapprove of how much they obsess over it, the game itself is great and very kid-friendly.
