The old grognards and people who laugh at medals will hate this, but the achievement craze in online games is here to stay.
Having benchmark achievements such as getting a purple heart when successfully landing a pilot wound, getting a "Flat-top Buster!" for sinking a CV... incremental steps for landing kills in various things... 1 kill, 5 kills, 10 kills, etc... attaching a small perk reward (since you can only get an achievement once) would not do much for the greats out there, but for new players it would be priceless.
These things may not mean much to the vocal minority of really hot sticks (or at least they wouldn't admit it), but to the average player the tangible effect of achievements is undeniable. The best part is, even the awesome guys would have something to strive for with hard to reach goals like (ex:) "New Hotness? Please." for killing a 262 in an I-16.
Aces High would literally be a treasure trove of possible achievements.
Tying a players forum account to their game account, or otherwise having a way for people to display their achievements/search them up like the scores list would be a must.
I'd be all it's Shake'N'Bake and I helped! on this, gladly!
I have a triplehead2go unit here at work, and I have fired up (but not flown) Aces High with it... I've considered taking it home, but have not yet done so.
What I would literally pay cash money for what would be the ability to have my kneeboard and chat bar on my second monitor at home. Removing that clutter would be awesome! Some might call this an unfair advantage, but some might call TH2G, TrackIR, expensive flight sticks, etc as unfair advantages as well.
ANYWAY... that's all I got.
