Referral Contest
« on: December 07, 2012, 12:56:21 PM »
So...

Everyone is ALWAYS clamoring for new planes...

What about coming up with an "approved list" of planes (i.e., HTC says green light on validity of adding to the game), and then starting a referral contest... person with the most PAID subs referred by them in X months get to select the next plane created?  Obviously no criteria on when the new plane comes out, as it's obviously 2 weeks.

WE ALL WIN!  (As long as they pick the A-26).

In-Game: 80hd
The Spartans do not enquire how many the enemy are but where they are.

How about, they add the Beau, the Boomerang and the Spit XII and then do whatever they want.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

It's almost impossible to get new people to sign up for this game, I have tried repeatedly - after all it is such a good game that you would think that anyone into ww2 planes and combat flight sims in general would be all over it!

However, everyone seems to be immediately turned off by the graphics and/or the steep learning curve :(

Strangely the only person I managed to get to subscribe and play regularly was my brother, who had no interest in ww2 planes or flight sims until AH :headscratch:
Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.

I only have positive things to say about Aces High the game, I try to promote it massively to anyone who might be interested and even people who probably don't give a crap :aok

I suppose I do also tell the truth about the community, but that's also a positive thing...as in "you'll love it, and the forums are hilarious too, a lot of the people that play are ex-military types from the states"

Sadly, Aces High might not have many more players. Because of the learning curve and graphics. Quite a few gamers are pampered with High Resolution Graphics (Eye Candy) and like to play games that are fun but easy to learn as well. Aces High doesn't have high graphics (but is beautiful nonetheless), and the learning curve is much harder than other games. However, that is what makes it better, because if you are willing to learn; then you have earned to fly.  That way we don't have random newbies coming in and ruining the experience for the veteran players. Instead, they are prey for the veteran players  :devil, and it also helps teach the new players a thing or two along the way.

I have been able to convince quite a few of my friends to play, and some stayed and others didn't.  :joystick:

Respectively,

Tinkles

P61 all im gonna say
But i got more and im gonna post a topic on it. HTC should put up a list of what a/c they are working on....if we see they are working on MY BELOVED B25J or the P61 then they wont get as many redundent wishes for them, HTC wont have to spend as much time reading all the "stuff" everyone posts there for giving extra time for modeling annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd we can be excited teased and have things to look forward to.
