Ability to Map Key to Toggle External Eng Sound On/Off
« on: December 15, 2012, 03:37:00 PM »
Could we get a key control so that the external eng sound can be toggle on/off without changing the user volume setting. Could save some of us from having ears blown out when waiting on runway to launch as a group.

They shouldnt be there in the first place, you dont hear anything but your own engine in an powered aeroplane.
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

Set your volumes properly and not in a manner to game the game.

Guys, he is not trying to game the game. when you group up on the runway you can hardly hear VOX as your plane is on idle but there are 5+ other motors 2 inches from your pilot. It is very LOUD.

The Pigs now get everyone to shutdown while we wait to launch, but that does not help if a few green guys or a set of buff takes off. Btw, if you do shutdown the external sounds get even louder!

Odd.  I thought there was an option to turn down sounds when someone was speaking into VOX. :headscratch:

There is it's the effects slider move it to the left until vox overides the engine sounds.

Except talking on VOX constantly to keep the external eng sound down isn't really a solution.

Additionally this is somewhat annoying in the AHXARL racing when all planes are sitting there waiting for the start.

doright totally understand your frustration.  I have mine set to about 30% and it is still loud when on a mission and your engine is off.  only way is either to turn your engine on or take your headset off.  really wish there was an all sounds off/on except for vox.
